Tummy tuck
Abdominoplasty and mini tummy tuck
Pregnancy and weight loss can leave loose skin and stretched abdominal muscles that no amount of crunches will tighten. A tummy tuck removes the extra skin and fat below the belly button and repairs the separated muscles (diastasis), giving you a flatter, firmer stomach and often better core strength.
A mini tummy tuck treats only the area below the belly button with a shorter incision and a quicker recovery.
What it can help with
- Loose, overhanging skin on the lower abdomen
- A pooch caused by separated muscles
- Stretch marks below the belly button
- A C-section scar you would like to improve
How it is done
A low incision runs from hip to hip, placed so it hides under underwear or a swimsuit. The muscles are stitched back together, the skin is pulled down and trimmed, and the belly button is reshaped.
Typical recovery
- Days 1–3
Walk slightly bent at the waist. A compression garment supports the repair.
- Week 1
Short walks several times a day. Complimentary post-op massage helps swelling.
- Weeks 2–3
Most patients return to desk work and stand up straight again.
- Week 6
Back to exercise, including core work once cleared.
- Months 3–6
Swelling resolves and the scar begins to fade with laser care.
