What would you like to change?

Choose your goals to see which breast procedures fit.

I would like…

Breast augmentation

Augmentation mammaplasty with implants or fat transfer

Breast augmentation adds volume and improves shape and symmetry. Some women want the fullness they lost after pregnancy or weight loss; others want a size they never had. Either way, the best result fits your frame, so Dr. Speron starts with your measurements and your goals, not a cup size.

You can choose saline or silicone gel implants, or for a modest change, your own fat transferred from another area.

What it can help with

  • Small or underdeveloped breasts
  • Volume lost after pregnancy, nursing or weight loss
  • Breasts of noticeably different sizes
  • Clothes and swimwear that do not fit the way you want

How it is done

Implants are placed through a small incision in the crease under the breast or at the edge of the areola, either over or under the chest muscle. You will try sizers at your consultation so you can see and feel the options before deciding.

Typical recovery

  1. Days 1–3

Chest tightness and soreness are normal. You will wear a supportive surgical bra.

  2. Week 1

Most patients return to desk work. No lifting over 10 pounds.

  3. Weeks 4–6

Normal exercise resumes. Implants begin to settle into a natural position.

  4. Months 3–6

Implants have dropped and softened. This is your final shape.

Breast lift

Mastopexy

Pregnancy, nursing, weight changes and time stretch the skin and let the breasts drop. A breast lift removes the extra skin, reshapes the breast tissue and raises the nipple and areola to a youthful position. The areola can be made smaller at the same time.

If you also want more fullness, especially in the upper breast, a lift can be combined with implants.

What it can help with

  • Breasts that sit lower on the chest
  • Nipples that point down or sit below the breast crease
  • Stretched, enlarged areolas
  • Breasts that look deflated

Typical recovery

  1. Week 1

Wear a support bra day and night. Expect swelling and some numbness.

  2. Week 2

Back to work and daily routines.

  3. Week 6

Full activity. Laser treatments help the incisions fade.

Breast reduction

Reduction mammaplasty

Very large breasts can cause neck, back and shoulder pain, deep grooves from bra straps, rashes under the breast and trouble exercising. Breast reduction removes tissue, fat and skin to make the breasts smaller, lighter and lifted. It has one of the highest satisfaction rates in plastic surgery.

When the symptoms are documented, insurance often covers it. Our team can help you check.

What it can help with

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain
  • Bra straps that dig grooves into your shoulders
  • Skin irritation under the breast
  • Difficulty exercising or finding clothes that fit

Typical recovery

  1. Week 1

Rest, wear the support bra and take short walks.

  2. Week 2

Back to desk work. Most patients notice relief from neck and back strain right away.

  3. Week 6

Back to exercise, often more comfortably than before.

Implant revision & removal

Exchange, resizing, capsulectomy, explant

Implants are durable but not lifetime devices. You may want a different size, an older implant replaced, scar tissue (capsular contracture) released, or implants removed altogether. Dr. Speron can exchange, reposition or remove implants and, when needed, lift the breast so it looks natural afterwards.

What it can help with

  • A breast that feels hard or looks distorted
  • Implants that have shifted or rippled
  • A ruptured or older implant
  • Wanting a smaller, larger or no implant

Breast reconstruction

After mastectomy or lumpectomy

Reconstruction restores the shape of the breast after cancer surgery, using implants, your own tissue, or both. It can be done at the time of mastectomy or years later. Federal law requires most health plans that cover mastectomy to cover reconstruction, including surgery on the other breast for symmetry.

What it can help with

  • Rebuilding the breast after mastectomy
  • Correcting changes after lumpectomy and radiation
  • Restoring symmetry between the breasts

Male breast reduction

Gynecomastia surgery

Enlarged breast tissue in men is common and often does not respond to diet or exercise. Surgery removes the firm glandular tissue and extra fat, usually through small incisions at the edge of the areola, sometimes with liposuction. The result is a flatter, firmer chest you are comfortable showing.

What it can help with

  • Puffy or enlarged breasts
  • A chest that shows through shirts
  • Avoiding the gym, the beach or taking your shirt off

Inverted nipple correction

Nipple eversion

A short procedure under local anesthesia releases the tight bands that pull the nipple inward so it projects normally. Most patients go back to normal activity within a day or two.

Breast surgery questions

Silicone or saline implants: which is better?

Silicone gel feels closer to natural breast tissue, especially for slim women. Saline is filled after placement, so the incision can be smaller, and a leak is easy to notice. Both are FDA-approved. Dr. Speron will explain the trade-offs for your body.

Do breast implants need to be replaced?

Implants do not expire on a set date. You only need surgery again if a problem develops or you want a change. Many women keep the same implants for well over a decade.

Can I breastfeed after breast surgery?

Many women can breastfeed after augmentation, and some can after a lift or reduction. The incision and technique matter, so mention it at your consultation if this is important to you.

Will insurance pay for my breast reduction?

Often, yes, when you have documented symptoms such as back pain or rashes and meet your plan’s criteria. Our team can help with the paperwork.

How soon can I exercise after breast surgery?

Walking right away, light lower-body exercise after about two weeks, and full upper-body workouts after about six weeks, once Dr. Speron clears you.

What does breast augmentation cost?

Your quote combines the surgeon’s fee, the flat surgery-center fee of $3,000 for IV sedation or general anesthesia, and the implants themselves. See pricing and financing.
